There is a lot of talk about the situation in the Gulf of Mexico. While it may make us feel better (briefly) to criticize, blame and complain, it really does no good. So what can we do? We can pray.
Unity Church of Venice, Florida is inviting Churches and individuals to gather on Sunday, June 20 and surround the Gulf of Mexico waters and creatures in love and prayer at noon Pacific time (3 p.m. Eastern time).
We all know the power of focused prayer. We can channel our frustration at the pollution of the Gulf into a positive force for good. I invite you to gather with me at Ocean Beach on Sunday to share in this sacred event. We will meet near Lifeguard Stand #4 (off West Point Loma Blvd.) at 11:45 a.m., so we can be ready to share the Light at noon.
If you are not able to be with us in person, here is the ritual we will follow:
Get centered in prayer. Direct your thoughts and energies to feelings of love and appreciation. When you are filled with loving thoughts, speak the following prayer:
“To whales, dolphins, manatees, pelicans, seagulls and all aquatic bird species, fishes, shellfish, planktons, corals, algae and all ion creatures in the Gulf of Mexico, I am sorry, Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.”
We will also bless the water and see it as whole and complete. You can use any bowl or container from any body of water, or even tap water, and join us in prayer. It is all One, we are all One, and the One will join us together in this great work from wherever we are.
